The pop-up modal upsells prompt customers to purchase additional items or upgrades, increasing their order value and boosting revenue.
Setting Up Pop-Up Modal Upsell
To enable pop-up upsells into your store. go to Rules page and select Create a Rule button:
Tiered Pricing
Select Cross sell and upsell option and click Next.
Upsell Name and Upsell Location
Give a name to this Upsell and proceed to select the Upsell Location:
Upsell Type
At Upsell Type, select Pop-up Modal radio button:
Pop-up Triggers
You can then configure how you want the pop-up to be triggered by setting up the options
Immediately after loading the product - The pop-up will show almost immediately after the selected product's page is loaded.
After ____ seconds - The pop-up will be displayed after the configured number of seconds.
After scrolling _____% of product page- The pop-up will be displayed when a certain % of the product page is scrolled.
When Add to Cart button is clicked - The pop-up will show when customer clicks on Add to Cart button. When this option is selected, the "Replace the original product with the upsell product in the customer's cart" option will appear.
When enabled, adding a product through the pop-up modal will replace the originally selected item in your cart. This option is suitable if you want to persuade customers to buy higher-priced product of the similar category. For example, recommending a 55 inch TV when a customer adds a 45 inch TV into the cart.
Eligible Products
Next, select which products will display the pop-up modals. You can choose to apply it to specific individual product(s), by collections, product tags, vendors or Entire store.
Select Upsell Products
Then, select the product(s) you wish to upsell by selecting the A total of 24 products could be selected.
Proceed to select the products you wanted to upsell:
If you wish to upsell by specific product variant, select the drop down button and select the variant you wish to upsell:
To entice customers to buy more, you can give a discount to all your upsell products. To do so, select the Turn On button for Set Upsell product Discount.
Proceed to setup the discount that you want to offer your customers. You can go by % or fixed amount ($):
IMPORTANT NOTE: The discounts will only apply if the customers add the products at the pop-up modal. Once the pop-up modal is closed, the discount will no longer be valid.
Design Settings
In design settings, you can configure your pop-up modal will look at the store front:
Select Pop-up Type - There are a total of 3 pop-up types:
Image Carousel
Product Table
Scrollable
Based on pop-up type selected in Option 1, choose the layout of the pop-up modals. You can choose how many products are to be displayed in a single page. Enabling this option:
Will display out of stock items in the pop-up modal. If this is unticked, out of stock items will be hidden and if all upsell items are out of stock, no pop-up will be displayed.
Select the pop-up animation of your pop-up upsell. You can preview the animation by selecting the preview button below Customize Colors section.
Enabling this option will display a countdown timer on the pop-up modal. This will create urgency for the customers to act within the given time frame. You can customize how long will the pop-up modal display and the timer designs. When this option is enabled:
The pop-up will close when the timer reaches 0. When the pop-up is closed, any discounts that is offered in the pop-up will expire as well.
Customize Colors
Lastly, you can customize the colors and the labels of your pop-up modal. To do so, just click on the section you wish to customize:
Proceed to customize that section accordingly:
Geotargeting
You can setup if you want the Upsell to appear to customers from certain countries by enabling the Only apply to the following countries and proceed to choose the countries of your choice:
Discount Period
By default, the upsell you set will be activated immediately upon completing the settings. However, you also have the option to schedule the discount period in advance by selecting the Schedule start date and time option.
