Yes, our Pre-Order can be used for digital products as well. It is compatible to be used with Shopify's Digital Download app.
To enable Pre-Order for digital products, please make sure follow the following steps:

In the Products of your Shopify Admin Panel, please ensure the inventory of the items are set to 0 and ensure "This is a physical product" is untick:
At the Pre-Order Manager app > Products page, turn on Pre-Order for this product:
Customers can now purchase Pre-Order for this digital product:
If you uploaded a digital item to Shopify's Digital Download app and there is existing Pre-Order(s), the app will ask if you would like to notify the customers who had purchased the Pre-Order:
If you click Yes, the customers will receive an email notifying them the download link of the digital item.
